Salary circa £32,000–£37,000 depending on experience

Job summary

The successful Product Engineer to work within the Product Development and Marketing team reporting directly to the Product and Marketing Manager. We are looking for someone to join our team, working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment to expand and support our growth in product development in the waste-water sector.

Main duties and essential responsibilities

  • Work on Product and process concept generation, prototyping and development.
  • Research new product ideas.
  • Creating drawings and specifications for products in 2 and 3D.
  • Interacting with other departments and 3rd parties to ensure project schedules are maintained.
  • Ensuring products meet safety, legal and quality standards.
  • Presenting design ideas to stakeholders.
  • Review and advise on installation details and assist with the writing of install manuals.
  • Hardware testing and debug experience.
  • Review and advise on manufacturing processes, machinery and equipment.
  • Preparation and maintenance of manufacturing specifications.

Knowledge and skills required

  • Product engineering background
  • Engineering Degree
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in product development
  • 2D and 3D CAD and SolidWorks experience
  • Testing and Debugging
  • Scheduling/Planning
  • Ability to collate and comprehend technical and product information
  • Computer literate; thorough working knowledge of MS Office, with use of database systems a strong advantage
  • Competent business administration skills
  • Educated to a high standard
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and work independently.
