The MagnaGrand Lateral is a fully automatic pumping station suitable for pumping both foul and storm water to a higher level when gravity drainage is not possible or economical to install.
The system is suitable for installing either at the initial building stage or retro fitting to existing buildings and can accept waste from an entire house, housing estate, commercial premises or similar.
The system consists of a horizontal GRP tank, locking access cover, internal pipework and fittings, control panel, float switches, guide rail/s with one or two built in submersible pumps. The tank is manufactured to your requirements, tank sizes vary from 750mm–3000mm in diameter and 1000mm to 18000mm in length.

The MagnaGrand Lateral is easy to install as inlets can be positioned to your requirements (inlet information to be supplied at time of order).
The size of the tank will vary depending on your application. Tank sizes vary from 750mm to 3000mm in diameter and 1000mm to 18000mm in length.
We do not pre-specify pump(s) for the MagnaGrand Lateral range as applications vary.
To enable us in advising on the appropriate pumping station, please refer to our online Enquiry Specification Form. We shall then select the most suitable system from our full range to fulfil your requirements.
We offer single or three phase (230–400V AC) and single or twin pump systems.
Installation guidelines
It is important to note that these instructions are for guidance only. Please refer to the full Installation and Operating Guidelines when specifying / installing the product.

Siting the product
The MagnaGrand Lateral is designed to be installed below ground level and so the prevailing ground conditions must be considered prior to locating the unit. Where possible, installation of a pumping station in a roadway should be avoided due to the need for periodic maintenance of the pump(s) contained therein. If the location is adjacent to a roadway, the installation method should take into account the imposed loads likely to be transmitted to the tank by traffic etc.
The MagnaGrand Lateral should be positioned in a sump with sufficient dimensions to allow for a concrete surround.

Inlet connection
The MagnaGrand Lateral comes complete with a 110mm rubber connector located on the side of the tank that will accept 110mm uPVC soil waste pipe. The waste pipe needs to be run with sufficient gradient to allow the waste to gravity drain into the unit and should be pushed firmly into the 110mm rubber connector so as to form a watertight seal around the incoming pipe.
NOTE – Inlets can be positioned to your requirements but must be specified at time of order.
Discharge connection
The connection of the discharge line is via the supplied compression adaptor. This connector is designed to accept black MDPE / HDPE pipework of appropriate outer diameter.
Electrical connection
A qualified person in accordance with the Institute Of Electrical Engineers Regulations should connect the unit to the appropriate mains supply taking into account all the electrical information provided.
IMPORTANT – All pump systems must be used with an appropriate motor rated protection device.
We recommend that the unit be inspected every three months. The inside of the MagnaGrand Lateral should be inspected to ensure the floats are clean and free of any build up of materials that may inhibit the operation of the float switch. Also the moving parts of the pump(s) should be checked to ensure that they are moving freely. Hose down the interior of the tank if necessary to remove any build up of solid materials and the bottom of the tank should be checked to make sure there is no debris or materials that could enter the pump(s) and cause irreparable damage.
In addition we recommend that a service agreement be taken out with a technically qualified company.
Health & safety
As with all site work, the danger of working with water and electricity can pose a severe threat to health if obvious and fundamental precautions are not taken. Therefore if you are in any doubt regarding the installation, please contact us.
All site work must be undertaken by qualified personnel only.
These notes are for guidance only and it is for the installer to ensure the installation is in accordance with all structural and regulatory requirements.
